I am a 10 year-old boy, living in Boulder, Colorado. I'm in fifth grade, and I am a Cub Scout. As a Cub Scout, we learn to be kind and help other people.
Every year, Cub Scouts also sell popcorn to raise money and pay our expenses. This year, I decided to do something special with my popcorn, and help other kids.
Here's How I Am Helping Kids With Popcorn
There are thousands of kids in the United States that don't get enough to eat. Most of these kids never even get to eat fun things like popcorn.
My goal is to give some fancy Cub Scout popcorn to as many of these kids as possible.
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME GIVE POPCORN TO KIDS?
I am working with a fantastic organization called "Feeding America". They have Food Banks all over the nation, and help feed hungry people.
They also feed thousands of kids. There are two special programs for kids:
1.) Backpack Program: Here, hungry kids are given special backpacks filled with healthy and kid-friendly food when they go home from school on the weekend or over a holiday.
2.) Kids Cafe: There are 17,000 "Kids Cafes" feeding hungry kids all over America.
